#WOD of the WEEK 7.24.2017 "MARCO"

Hey ya'll! So, Marc and I just made a BIG move across the country a couple weeks ago. From Massachusetts out to Park City, UT! The first thing we had to do, of course, was find ourselves a new CrossFit gym. The choice was simple- CrossFit Park City, owned and operated by Chris Spealler (CrossFit legend).

When we arrived, lucky for us, we found out that July at CrossFit Park City is Hero/Benchmark WOD month. That means every day in July is either a hero or benchmark WOD. Needless to say, July has been an intense month of training over here in Utah...

Today's WOD was simple at first glance...which is terrifying for a hero WOD (the simple ones always seem to end up being the most painful). This morning we honored U.S. Marine Cpl. Marc T. Ryan who was killed November 15, 2004 from a roadside bomb in Iraq.

21 pull-ups
15 handstand push-ups
9 thrusters (135/95#)


OUCH. Lungs, shoulders, and triceps were on FIRE almost immediately because of the combination of these 3 movements. I was relieved when it was over, but I was happy to be honoring a fallen hero. Give this one a try, and remember to pace yourself on the first round!
