#WODoftheWEEK "Bradshaw" 7.3.2017

10 ROUNDS, TONS OF WORK, YOU READY yet?

Got another hero WOD for you folks to try this week. This one's called 'Bradshaw' and I had the pleasure of doing it after I saw it programmed at my box...the only problem was, I missed my class and did it solo the following day. Totally not recommended, but let's dive in...

Hero WOD's have a special place in my heart. They are often named after (you guessed it) a hero who is gone too soon...whether a military veteran, or someone simply special in life, hero WOD's are NEVER easy, and are usually designed to be long, grueling, and mentally tough workouts. And, 'Bradshaw' is no different here...

Lt. Bradshaw was part of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment and was a badass. He gave the ultimate sacrifice in Khevi, Afghanistan on June 25th, 2009, and this beast of a hero WOD is promptly named after him. With it being 10 rounds fill of handstand pushups, deadlifts, pull-ups and double unders, you know every muscle group is going to be tested over 10 rounds.

Anyways, with it being close to July 4th, never forget what so many heroes do for us on a daily basis, it's certainly an appropriate time to remember the sacrifices each of our military members do for each and every one of us. Thank you all for your service.

#WODoftheWEEK

"BRADSHAW"

10 Rounds For Time

  • 3 Handstand Push-Ups

  • 6 Deadlift (225/155 lb)

  • 12 Pull-Ups

  • 24 Double-Unders

I scored a 21:37 and kinda dogged it. The pull-ups ripped my hands around Round 7 and I certainly struggled with the double unders towards the end. It it what is is, but try this one out and post your times when you can get around to putting this one in your own programming!

Lt. Bradshaw

U.S. Army First Lieutenant Brian Bradshaw, 24, of Steilacoom, WA, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based in Fort Richardson, AK, died in Kheyl, Afghanistan, on June 25th, 2009, from wounds suffered when insurgents detonated a roadside bomb near his vehicle. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Mary, and brother Robert.
