#WODoftheWEEK "The King's Revenge."
"You sound like you're from Lahhhndunnnnn."
Our #WODoftheWEEK comes from George Vallone, who will be on the VRX site soon, and leading some future trips to Thailand, Bali and more. He is also a member of my home box, CrossFit Southie. George has a badass gig that allows him to travel around the world right now, and drop-in to a lot of sweet boxes, like CrossFit Evolving Kilburn where he recently tackled this beast known as, 'The King's Revenge.'
Now, fun fact....Ive been to nearly 40 countries and have never been to London, but I do know quite a bit about it. Like this:
- The London Underground is the oldest underground railway network in the world.
- The London Underground, was built in 1863, and was the first metro of the world.
- The London Underground is known as 'the Tube'.
- 55% of the London Underground, is not underground.
Ok, so all my fun facts might just be about the subway system....
But, with London being the megalithic, internationally renowned (and former home to the most billionaires in the world) I do know it's a very expensive, but amazing city to live in and visit. Plus, they also have one or two NFL games there a year, and mostly enjoy the sport of Soccer, or 'Football' as they call it.....but It is on my list of places to go, but I'm really a country boy myself and would love to drive up and down the coast of Scotland, Ireland and Wales far more, so....who knows when I'll make it here next.
Have you been to London? What's your favorite thing about it? Comment at the bottom of this post and let us know!
Anyway, so many places to go, not enough time! Let's look at this nice picture and jump to the #WODoftheWEEK.
#WODoftheWEEK
2 Rounds for Time (40 minute time cap)
30 Pullups
40 Shoulder to Overhead 95/65
50 KB Swings
60 Dubs
50 Hollow Rocks
40 Cal Assault Bike
30 Burpees
Alright, so....now I know why they call this one, 'The King's Revenge.' Looks pretty nasty! Two times through as well? Woof. Let's talk about those pull-ups and then right into the Shoulder to Overhead with 95 lbs and THEN right into kettlebell swings....talk about a shoulder burn, can you even do those dubs right after?
Looks like there's a 40 minute cap here, but once through would be enough for anyone to think twice, which means the best way to get through this one is to just put your head down and go one rep at a time. No sense in looking at what comes next, just count up, or down, and get the work done, shut that brain off and stay in the moment to get through this WOD.
That's it for this week, if you have a #WODoftheWEEK, email it to us at: staff@voyedgerx.com
