Fittest Travel Hotel WOD - 11-17/2017 'Hotel Hell'
Behind every sound mind, is a sound body.
The FittestTravel.com blog is chock full of good information. From deciding which podcasts to listen to, to finding ways to always stay fit while traveling, I've never been disappointed by their content and love their email blast.
Their company mission, mantra, and everything else comes across very clearly, and here at VoyEdge, we're lucky to be able to repost their content, as so much of it fits into our mantra, ideas, and more.
Recently, Chris Castellano published a hotel workout called, 'Hotel Hell' that's reminiscent of the CrossFit workout, 'Kalsu,' and I wanted to reshare it here as I've found myself stuck at hotels before, with limited access to a car, let alone a CrossFit gym, and it's always a grind to try to figure out how dumbbells, and other assorted machines can serve as a functional fitness room.
That, my friends, is where Fittest Travel comes in. Let's hop to it.
Try this workout next time you're at a hotel weight room, and tell me it's not one of the best workouts you've ever done. Again, this one is called, 'Hotel Hell.'
Hotel Hell
For Time:
100 Dumbbell Thrusters (35/25 lb)
5 Burpees at the Top of Each Minute
Start with 5 burpees. Then complete as many thrusters as possible until the minute is up. Repeat until 100 total thrusters are completed.
This workout is a burner. And if you've ever done Kalsu at a CrossFit box, you're probably going to have some PTSD when coming back to this, 'Hotel Hell' workout. Either way, it's a damn good workout to do at a hotel, mostly because they always have dumbbells (at least) and you can count on a variety of bodyweight movements to get you going and keep you fit, no matter what.
