Tony's #WODoftheWEEK - 'Maupin' 10.24.16
So, every week we'll be posting content, such as: Where To Go, What To Do and most importantly a WOD (workout of the day) that we especially love. Usually it's one that kicks our asses and leaves a mark.
This week, Tony's up - and he's got an especially spicy workout. (Yes, he is a beast) but we want to encourage people to follow our blog and post their scores. After all, our VoyEdge RX team is made up of athletes of all skill levels and we want to showcase, inspire and tire our followers.
Be sure to follow us on social and see what we're up to, where we're going and what we're doing while we're there! Or, you can meet the rest of our team here.
Without further ado, here's Tony’s WOD of the week!

Every athlete has those things they really love to see in a workout, mainly because it is strength of theirs. Personally, when I see movements such as box jumps, push-ups, running, thrusters and wall balls I get a little glimmer of hope that I won’t completely fall on my face during the workout. It’s also a bonus when that workout is 15+ minutes and beats me down. I like those days.
When I locked eyes with the workout this Tuesday I knew it was going to be one of those days and it only helps that is was a hero WOD.
I present 'MAUPIN.'
4 rounds
800 meter run
49 pushups
49 situps
49 squats
It’s challenging enough with body weight but I decided to step it up a bit and strap on a 20lb vest.
It is named after Sgt. Keith “Matt” Maupin who disappeared on April 9th, 2004 south of Baghdad. His remains were found in March of 2008. If at any point you feel you need a second, third or fourth wind, keep Sgt. Maupin in mind.
My time: 38:36 RX with 20lb vest.
I'd love to hear what your times are, so definitely write them in the comments below. Hero WOD's are usually our favorites - often encouraging us to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our daily freedom's. Try this one out and as always, shoot us a line if you have any questions comments and concerns.
Side note, this is a GREAT workout to do one of our future trips. I'll hope to see you on one at one point or another! Check out our Clearwater Beach Trip coming up in February!
Don't forget to subscribe to our email blast and newsletter as we'll be sending out content bi-weekly.
Cheers ~ Tony B. out!
