5 Simple Ways to Get Rid of Stress & Boost Happiness
Guest blog by: Jack Green
Stress is a very serious issue that unfortunately is quite common all over the world, of course, everyone feels a little stressed from time to time, but when the stress becomes chronic, it is a real problem. Chronic stress does not only damage the body and its immune system itself, but it can also lead to many other serious diseases like diabetes, heart disease and depression.
For many people, using pharmaceutical meds are the only way to get rid of daily stress. These meds may work for now, but they have a lot of serious side effects. You should go for some natural remedies that actually cure your stress instead of providing momentary relief. Here is a list of some stress decreasing remedies that you should check out:
1) Light Exercising
Light exercise is a great way to combat stress naturally and stay healthy at the same time. Exercise is quite effective in fighting stress because when we exercise, a lot of endorphins and hormones are released in our body, one of which is dopamine. Dopamine is called a pleasure hormone, and it can make us happier and improve our mood while pushing back against stress. But remember to keep the workouts light, because intense workouts can actually cause the opposite effect on the body and increase stress instead of decreasing it.
2) Meditation and Breathing Exercises
Meditation is another super effective and scientifically proven method for relieving stress. The controlled breathing techniques that are taught in meditation are a great way to counter stress instantly. Some other breathing exercises like yoga and tai chi are also super effective in combating stress. So, try to make time for a small 10-minute session of meditation in your mornings to stay on top of your daily stress.
3) Cannabis
Cannabis is hailed as some sort of a wonder drug these days. A lot of studies have been done on the medical effects of cannabis recently, and it has been found that cannabis is great for stress management. Because of these medical benefits, cannabis has been legalized in many American states and Canada. And, you should give it a try for side effect free relief to chronic stress.
4) Phoenix Tears
If you don't want to use cannabis because of its psychoactive effects, you can also use CBD oil or Phoenix tears. I'm sure you would most probably know what CBD oil is but you may be wondering what are phoenix tears? Well, "phoenix tears" is just a street name of hemp seed oil. This oil is extracted from the seeds of sativa cannabis seeds. Hemp oil, like CBD, doesn't have any psychoactive effects, and it is great for combating stress.
5) Maintaining a Healthy Diet and Sleep Schedule
Stress can also be caused because of an unhealthy diet or an unhealthy sleep schedule. You should make sure that you're eating right and getting all the required nutrients. Make sure that you get enough water every day. As far as sleep is concerned, you should be getting at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep every day. If you take care of your diet and maintain a healthy sleep cycle, you will notice a significant decrease in your stress levels, and you won't get stressed easily either.
