#WODoftheWEEK 18.1

18.1 - How'd you do?

crossfit meme

So, week one of the CrossFit Games are officially behind us, and yep, we saw the return of the dumbbells, just like a lot of you predicted. Week one was obviously a little bit longer of a WOD, so happy to get that one out of the way, but how did you do? What did you like/dislike? Let us know down in the comments!

Recap

Workout 18.1

Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
8 Toes-to-bars
10 dumbbell hang clean and jerks
12-cal. row

Women use 35-lb. dumbbell

What did you like about this workout and what didn't you? What ultimately was a pacing/rowing WOD turned out to be a bit too long, in my opinion, but was still a fun one. I think slimming it down to 12 or 14 minutes would have been interesting to see people try to go 100% through all of it, but then again, there's a whole lot I don't know about why Castro does the things he does....

Anyway, whether or not you did it once, or are redoing it tonight, best of luck, and please remember to be safe! Push yourself, be the best you can be, but remember, patience plus perseverance equals progress. Knowing your limits and being able to surpass them safely is always key in the open! If you need tips or are redoing it tonight, then check out this video of Nicole Carroll.

VoyEdge RX 18.1 Scores

Now, our average scores (those of us at VoyEdge RX doing the open)...even though it doesn't really matter.

Ashley - 369 reps RX

Lauren - 333 reps RX

Larry - 333 reps RX

Tony - 354 reps RX

Cam - 364 reps RX

Again, not that our scores matter, but I think it's a cool way to share, show we are all human, regular people who are trying to improve and want to be part of the global CrossFit community and progress as human beings and what we're capable of. While the CrossFit Games are a test to find the fittest people on planet earth, I really do love how all of their social media is constantly showing fitness levels of people from all backgrounds and abilities. It is awesome to see people accomplish their fitness/weight loss/mobility and even gymnastic goals after being introduced to CrossFit and truly, that is why I am still a member of this community.

And I couldn't be more proud of VoyEdge RX and to spread the love, positive content, and more around. From our customers, to newfound athletes, and others around the world.

If you're also down with that, then join our 'travel & fitness' Facebook group here. A lot of us in there have been talking about the Open and sharing some cool links etc. Hope you join, and let us know what you thought of 18.1 down in the comments!

And check back next week for our recap on 18.2 and more predictions!
